Our school music education consists of three distinct, but interlinked areas of provision.
These three areas are accessible to all pupils and build on each other, starting from a foundation set in curriculum music time, supporting progression through co-curricular learning, playing and creating, and enriching this with musical experiences. Furzeham Primary has strong links to Brixham College and Torbay and South Devon Music Hub and Torbay and South Devon Music Centre which benefit all pupil’s music development.
The Largest Children’s Choir in the World | Young Voices
We believe that participation in music making can have a positive impact on children’s well-being, mental health self-confidence and can build a sense of community. This national event takes places in venus across the UK and brings thousands of children to sing in the UK's largest choir.
The Young Voice Foundation is committed to reaching children who would otherwise not have access to high-quality music-making experiences.
Furzeham’s Performing Arts club will be starting up after October half term. The club will be open to children in Year’s 4, 5 and 6 learning songs for Christmas to perform at different events around school. The club will continue after Christmas learning songs and a dance for the Torbay Schools Festival of Performing Arts then in the summer term the club will be open for children in Years 2 and 3.
